Bambú Ensemble is a chamber music group of eight young string players. It was born within the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE: Joven Orquesta Nacional de España) motivated by a huge musical and personal affinity.
A versatile group, Bambú Ensemble appear in different instrumentations, the most common being string octet. The wide range of sonic possibilities the ensemble can offer allows for performances of rarely explored repertoire. Members of the ensemble live in different countries across Europe assembling several times a year.
Once together, they rehearse intensively, immersing themselves in the repertoire and developing a deep connection to all works performed. The ensemble has performed in numerous regions of Spain, including concerts in the “Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid” (recorded live and broadcasted by Spanish National Radio), in Barcelona, Asturias (“Auditorio Principe Felipe in Oviedo”), Galicia, Castellón (Auditori i Palau de Congressos de Castelló), Logroño (“Auditorio del Ayuntamiento de Logroño”).
They have also recently performed in the “Museo del Traje”, Madrid, as a collaboration with the project “MusaE”, an initiative which searches to join music and cultural heritage.
Bambú Ensemble also puts social respinsability at the heart of all their activities. Their collaborations include charity concerts with “ONG Formacion y Vida,” the “Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer” (AECC) as well as performances in the “Centro de Autismo Aspanaes” in Galicia.
